Berry | Charles Frederick | | Lieutenant | He was killed in action March 31st, 1901. He was 31 years of age and a native of Taunton. Several years ago he went to South Africa, and was one of the inhabitants of Johannesburg who took part in the Jameson Raid. When the South African War broke out Mr Reitz refused him permission to stay in Pretoria, and he accordingly left for Cape Town, joined the Durban Light Infantry and took part in several engagements. When his regiment was disbanded Lieutenant Berry joined the Prince of Wales's Light Horse and was given a commission in command of the cycle section.
