Cavendish | Charles William Hugh | | 2nd Lieutenant | He was killed in action at Diamond Hill, near Pretoria, June 11th, 1900. He was the only son of Lord Chesham, commanding the Imperial Yeomanry. He was born September 1878, educated at Eton and entered the 17th Lancers from the Royal Military College in August 1898. He proceeded to South Africa in February 1900, and served with his regiment in the ORC and Transvaal until killed at Diamond Hill.
