Hall | Lewis Duval | | Lieutenant | He was killed in action at Wagon Hill, Ladysmith, January 6th, 1900. He was the son of Lewis Duval Hall JP DL of Taverham Hall, Norwich, was born in 1875, and educated at Eton. He entered the Rifle Brigade from the 3rd Battalion Oxfordshire Light Infantry 1897, being promoted Lieutenant October 1899. Lieutenant Hall took part in Lord (then Sir Herbert) Kitchener's expedition to Omdurman in 1898, and was present at the battle of Khartoum, receiving the medal, also the Egyptian medal with clasp. He also served in Crete. He accompanied his battalion to South Africa in October 1899, and served with it in Ladysmith till killed.
