Cameron | G E E G | | Major | Entered the Gordon Highlanders in 1892, and took part with the Relief Force in the operations in Chitral in 1895 (medal and clasp); the operations on the NW Frontier of India with the Tirah Expeditionary Force in 1897-8, including the action of Dargai (despatches and two clasps); the Boer War in 1899-1900 as a Special Service Officer taking part in the advance on Kimberley, including the action at Enslin; operations in the Orange Free State, and at Paardeberg; present at the actions at Poplar Grove, Driefontein, Houtnek (Thaba Mountain), Vet River and Zand River, and the operations in the Transvaal and Cape Colony (despatches, Brevet-Major and QSA with four clasps). Subsequently he was appointed Adjutant of the Royal Hospital at Chelsea in succession to Major A E O Congdon. | Gordon Highlanders |
