Tarbutt | Charles A Percy | | Lieutenant | He died of typhoid fever at Pretoria, February 13th, 1900. He was the eldest son of Percy Tarbutt of the Consolidated Gold Fields of South Africa. Lieutenant Tarbutt was twenty six years of age, and was educated at University College School (where he was in the football XV.), and at the Bedford Grammar School. When Lieutenant Tarbutt landed in South Africa he was given a commission as Lieutenant in the South African Light Horse. After the battle of Colenso he was reported missing, but it was subsequently discovered that he had been wounded and captured.
