Clark | James Rutherford Clark | | Captain | He was killed in action at Magersfontein, December 11th, 1899. He was born October 1862, joined the Seaforth Highlanders as Lieutenant September 1882, and was promoted Captain October 1890. He served in the Hazara Expedition of 1888, as acting adjutant of the left half battalion, 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders, receiving the medal with clasp. He was also in the Hazara Expedition of 1891, as adjutant of his battalion (clasp). Captain Clark also served with the Chitral Relief Force, under Sir Robert Low, in 1895, and was present in the engagement at Mamagai, receiving the medal with clasp. He accompanied his battalion to South Africa in October 1899, and joined the Kimberley Relief Force shortly before the action at Magersfontein.
