Carbutt | Edward Goddard | | Lieutenant | He was killed in action at Kimberley, February 14th-16th, 1900. He was born September 1871, educated at Malvern College, and entered the Royal Artillery in July 1891, being promoted Lieutenant July 1894. Lieut Carbutt embarked for South Africa in December 1899, with his battery, which then formed part of the force under Lieutenant General Sir J D P French, assembled at Modder River Camp for the relief of Kimberley.
