He was educated at Nottingham High School, and Exeter College, Oxford; was ordained Deacon in 1898, and priest in 1899 by the Bishop of Exeter. From 1898-1901 he acted as Curate of St Peter's, Tiverton, Devon; served with the South African Field Force in 1901-2 (medal and four clasps). He was stationed at Aldershot from 1902-4; Bloemfontein from 1904-5 when he was transferred to Roberts' Heights, Pretoria. | Unknown |
