Cowan | Arthur Ernest Alphonsus | | 2nd Lieutenant | He died of enteric at Elandsfontein, April 11th, 1902. He was born August 1880, and educated at Clifton. He entered the Antrim Artillery in April 1900, being promoted Lieutenant the following September and while belonging to it, was specially selected for service in South Africa in 1901. He was granted a commission in the 2nd Dragoon Guards in October 1901, and served with it till his death.
