HuddartCymbeline Alonso EdricMidshipmanHe was mortally wounded in action at Graspan, November 25th, 1899, and died the same night. He was nearly 19 years of age, and was the son of James Huddart of Eastbourne. He entered the "Britannia" in 1895, where he was one of the two chief captains of cadets, and passed out with such seniority that he joined the "St George” on the Cape Station as midshipman June 1897. On Admiral Rawson's arrival home from the Cape Midshipman Huddart was transferred to the "Doris". At the time of his death he was acting as ADC to Captain Prothero, commanding the naval brigade with the Kimberley Relief Force.
