Norman | Montagu Collet | | Captain | NORMAN, MONTAGU COLLET, Captain, was the son of F H Norman, of Moor Place, Much Hadham, Herts. He was educated at Eton, and King's College, Cambridge, and served in the South African War, 1900-1; was mentioned in Despatches; received the Queen's Medal with four clasps, and was created a Companion of the Distinguished Service Order [London Gazette, 27 September 1901]: "Montagu Collet Norman Captain, 4th Bedfordshire Regiment. In recognition of services during the operations in South Africa". He became Deputy Governor, Bank of England (1918), and Lieutenant, City of London.
