Hughes | Louis Campbell | | Lieutenant | He was killed in action at Tweefontein, near Heilbron, November 14th, 1901. He was a son of General Sir William Hughes KCB, was 24 years of age, and educated at Marlborough. Lieutenant Hughes was mentioned in despatches by General Lord Kitchener, December 8th 1901"for conspicuous gallantry in action". His name was inscribed on a tablet placed in Marlborough College Chapel in memory of all Marlburians who fell in the war.
