Fowle | Henry Walter Hamilton | | Captain | Served in the Boer War, 1899-1900, with Roberts's Horse, subsequently being seconded for service under the Military Governor at Pretoria; acted as Military Commissioner of Police and Assistant Prov. Marshal for Heidelberg and district in 1900-1; was Assistant Commissioner of Police at Pretoria in 1901; and from that time until 1902 he held various positions, including Political Officer to the Military Commissioner of Police at Johannesburg, Military Intelligence Officer for Johannesburg and district, and Assistant to the Director of Military Intelligence, Army Headquarters, and to the Prov. Marshal (two medals and six clasps). He is a JP for the Transvaal; was Chief Secretary, for Permits under the Peace Preservation Ordinance in 1902, and in 1903 was appointed Registrar of Asiatics in the Transvaal. | Roberts' Horse |
