Hi Steve, I have put the photo on the alveley group page, everyone is really interested.
Are there just two medals ??. They look in really good condition, have they been kept in a box ?

Hi Margaret,
There are just the two medals, Queen's South Africa and King's South Africa.
I would assume that while Herbert was alive he and his surviving relatives would have cherished them. Once they were sold outside of the family to a collector they would, again, have been carefully looked after judging by their present condition.
It is great that they are generating so much interest locally.

A rewarding session at Lockdales today!
Both QSAs to Tolley and Jones are coming back to Worcestershire!
Full papers online for Jones. Nothing for Tolley so far.
