I think, subject to further investigation, I will be able to add 5312 W Hadley (see previous post) to my "Smethwickian" database despite him being Black Country born and raised. He went out to SA as a married man leaving behind a pregnant wife although he might not have realised it at the time. 22 pages of military records on FMP. He figures in a public family tree on Ancestry apparently created by his great-grandson which includes a wonderful family photo of him & his sister, brothers and parents in their back garden before I suspect attending a wedding, presumably his centre stage sister 's.
