Harrison | C W Francis | | | Youngest son of David Harrison, of Nottingham, was born, Dec 7, 1874, at Grantham, Lines. After serving in the GNR Co's chief offices he joined the Natal Railway service (Dec, 1898), becoming personal assist, to Sir David Hunter, and later Acting Chief Clerk to the General Manager. He was appointed Secretary to the Special Commission in Railways, 1902, and Secretary, to the Railway Employees' Inquiry Board, 1904. Mr Harrison directed the preparation of the art albums and souvenirs presented to the Royal visitors to Natal, 1901-2; was joint compiler of the Official Birdseye Map of the War District in Natal; compiled also the Official Railway Guide and General Handbook to Natal (1903), Guide to Port Natal, and other Governmental publications. | Unknown |
