Cantor | Montagu Grant | | Lieutenant | He was killed February 6th, 1901, at Bothwell, in the attack made by Botha on Major General Smith-Dorrien's force. Lieutenant Cantor was born September 1877, entered the West Yorkshire Regiment from the 4th Battalion Durham Light Infantry, in January 1899, and was promoted Lieutenant the following November. He was mentioned in General Lord Kitchener's despatch of July 28th, 1901, for having, during the attack on Bothwell, "headed a party sent to reinforce the trenches, and led most gallantly till killed".
