London Gazette 30 March 1900 (General Buller), and 4 September 1901 (Lord Roberts). General Buller stated in his despatch: ‘The Ordnance Department has been short handed throughout and an unusual amount of hard work has fallen upon individuals and I submit the following in order of merit as especially deserving.'
