Rundle | William John Scott | | Lieutenant | RUNDLE, WILLIAM JOHN SCOTT, Lieutenant, was born 26 March 1876; was gazetted a Lieutenant in the 6th Dragoon Guards 11 October 1899, from the local Military Forces in New South Wales, and became Lieutenant. He distinguished himself in the South African War, and was created a Companion of the Distinguished Service Order [London Gazette, 27 September 1901]: "William John Scott Rundle, Lieutenant, 6th Dragoon Guards. In recognition of services during the operations in South Africa (since died of wounds)". The Insignia, Warrant and Statutes were sent to Mr Nixon.
