Green | E | 78312 | Gunner | D.C.M. London Gazette 27 September 1901. Edward Green was born in Bishopsgate, London. A Blacksmith by trade, he attested for service in the Royal Artillery on 10 March 1890, aged 19 years. He served in India with the 31st Field Battery, R.F.A., February 1891-December 1896. Posted to the 68th Field Battery in 1896, he served in South Africa, 21 January 1900-18 May 1901. Green was severely wounded in the chest at Dewetsdorp, 23 November 1900, and for his distinguished services during the action, he was awarded the D.C.M. He was discharged on 1 April 1902. Sold with copied service papers and other research. Distinguished Conduct Medal, V.R.
