It would appear two Walter Ramsay's joined the C-in-C's Bodyguard within two days of each - this one from the Scots Guards:

M&E say 'Henry Smith of the Commander in Chief’s Bodyguard is confirmed on the medal rolls for the Orange Free State and South Africa 1901 clasps, he is confirmed on Natal Carabiniers roll for the Defence of Ladysmith, Transvaal and Laing’s Nek clasps (No, 280 Corporal).'

M&E say 'John Boyles is confirmed on the medal rolls. He served with the Cape Garrison Artillery between 20 October 1899 and 6 February 1901 (No. 549), then with the Commander-in-Chief’s Bodyguard between 31 January and 6 December 1901. He later served with the Cape Infantry between 15 October 1901 and 16 February 1902 (No. 24), and finally with the Cape Town Highlanders between 4 March and 31 May 1902.'

M&E say 'James H. Templeton, of the Commander in Chiefs’ Bodyguard, is confirmed on the medal rolls. He is listed on the C. in C. Bodyguards roll as previously serving with the Natal Volunteer Ambulance Corps.'
