According to de Man only 4 were made in silver for special presentation, 200 in silvered bronze and 800 in bronze for sale to the public. The plaque was completed in the week, whilst the President was travelling in France, and was struck by the Paris firm of Janirez.

Svante Edvin Nilsson was a Swedish medal engraver and musician. He was born in Stockholm in 1869 and first began to study medal engraving for the Swedish engraver Adolf Lindberg when he was just thirteen years old. He was awarded a scholarship by the Kommerskollegium in 1893, and studied further in Paris and Rome. He remained living and working in Paris from 1893 until the start of the Great War.
