Fraser | Eric | | Lieutenant | He was killed in action at Spion Kop, in the operations on the Tugela, January 24th, 1900. He was the youngest son of James Fraser of Newfield, Blackheath Park, London. Lieutenant Fraser was born December 1878, and educated at Radley and Eton, where he gained a King's Scholarship. He entered the Lancashire Fusiliers from the Royal Military College May 1898, and was promoted Lieutenant May 1899. His gallantry at Spion Kop is reported to have been very noticeable, and during the day he is stated to have performed many acts of bravery. He fell shot through the forehead whilst assisting a wounded man of his company. Lieutenant Fraser was mentioned in despatches, LG, February 8th, 1901.
