Edward Charles Jenkins served with the Section IV, ‘B’ Company, Redoubt No. 4 during the Defence of Kimberley, He saw further service during the Great War with the South African Veteran Regiment, and was appointed Lance-Corporal on 17 January 1916.

Kimberley Star 'a', adapted for wear as a brooch, with reverse pin.

M&E say George Williamson of Ashburner’s Light Horse is confirmed on the medal roll, and received his Defence of Kimberley clasp while serving as Private no. 1329 in 'B' Company of the Kimberley Town Guard (No. 4 Redoubt, De Beers Floors). He subsequently served as Trooper no 183 with Kimberley Light Horse (discharged 5 June 1900) and latterly served with Ashburner’s Light Horse from the 28 November 1901. He was killed in action at Klip Drift on 7 March 1902.
