Again, just picking up on some comments, although some time ago. I have collected Boer war for many years and sold my collection 7 years agao, only to start again this year!! I have started well and again focus on NATAL, pretty much from the start to the relief of Ladysmith. One of the best so far is a DCM to the 1st Devons, awarded for Elandslaagte, which is a complete group with all of his paperwork, workbook and a fantastic photo album. So, if anyone has any of this regiment, perhaps they might be in the photos, please let me know.

In the past I have only seen the DCM group to Horswell. There are pictures of this man. Is this your man?

I have just put two and two together and made four! I have met you before at Britannia and have always admired the work you have done, hopefully I can contribute something even though I do work full time.

On the subject of Elandslaagte and Horswell, your book mentions that he was MID for Talana and indeed issued with a DCM. In his paperwork, there is a signed insert on his diary which states the DCM was for his actions at Elandslaagte. Iis signed by the commanding officer and it would be good to get it verified as it was sold on this basis, or at least the price would have been less had this not been the case!
