Is there a history book available covering this unit's time in South Africa?

Yes, there is a unit history; "That Ragged Mob" by Droogleever. Unfortunately, I do not have that one. However, the rolls confirm Taylor's clasp entitlement. Many, many QSA medals to Colonial OZ contingents were awarded without clasps and they were forwarded later (and sometimes returned!). I admit that the Rhodesia clasp does look new. Once, when I obtained a NSWIB medal without clasps, I was briefly tempted to buy replicas - but did not. Anyway, the proper rivets would be difficult to get here.

IL.
