MID London Gazette 8 February 1901.

W. J. Harris served in the 22nd Depot Company, Army Service Corps during the Boer War, later earning his L.S. & G.C. as a Staff Sergeant-Major on 1 July 1907. He was commissioned Honorary Lieutenant & Quartermaster on 5 February 1913 and entered the war in that role on 12 August 1914; sold together with copied research and London Gazette entry.

Lionel George Montagu Harcourt was born on 18 September 1877 at Gibraltar, the second son of Colonel G.J. Harcourt late Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the West India Regiment on 16 February 1898, promoted to Lieutenant on 16 November 1898. He later transferred to the Army Service Corps with whom he served during the Boer War.

Promoted to Captain he joined the Indian Army Supply & Transport Corps at Quetta in 1903 where he died on 4 February 1909 at Quetta India, cause unknown. He is buried at Christ Church, Rawalpindi.
