There is a QSA and BWM for sale as a pair on e---- as I write.

I have confirmed the fact that the 1914/15 Star and Victory are missing from the WWI equation which renders the group immediately unattractive to me but I would still like to know, for interests sake, about the QSA to the Cape Infantry.

I have never seen a medal to this outfit before and yet the naming looks "okay". There is also nothing about them on this Forum under Unit Information.

Are they a great rarity of a complete dud?

Regards

Rory

Hello Rory

I don't like the naming on the QSA. The KSA is also for sale separately and is very obviously a rename.

In general Cape Infantry QSAs are scarce to rare as many men served in other units and had their medals named to a unit other than Cape Infantry.

No body of soldiers so named are on record as existing at time of ABW.

I have seen one medal to the Cape Infantry. I used to own the QSA to Pte Becker.

There are 336 names on the roll: angloboerwar.com/unit-information/south-...s/3076-cape-infantry

OK, OK, Ok........

I took a leap of faith and bought this one threw in a bid of L 101.......

When it arrives and I clean it I will take some better pictures......

Of the 336 names on the roll I hope there is a Pte. W. J. Murphy.......
