Good Day Everyone.....

Please find attached photo's of the uniform belonging to Captain Perry Fall of the South African Constabulary.....

These uniform pieces came directly from the family along with a number papers and news paper articles.....

The sunhat I am sure is not of the Boer War period as Fall stayed in SA after the war and up until the beginning of WW1 when he returned to Canada and tried to enlist in the CEF.....

He had previous service in The Winnipeg Corps of Cavalry in 1885 and rec'd the Northwest Canada Medal with no Clasp and with Lord Strathcona's Horse and rec'd the QSA with Natal, Orange Free State and Belfast bars...... For service with SAC he was given the Transvaal and South Africa 1901 / 1902 bars.... Also served in Canadian Scouts for a short period of time before going to S.A.C.

There are some marks on the trousers, S11, and in an oval M.T.M., there is a mark on the pocket but is not readable.....
Helmet is not original, pants see faded as compared to jacket/tunic.....

Mike,
Have you got a flag pole in your garden?

Frank.....

Yes I do..... Fly special flags on special occasions i.e. Welsh on St. David's Day, French on Bastille Day, US on Independence Day etc....... An as a joke I have put up some flags that the neighbours have fun guessing what they are..... i.e. Imperial Russian, State of Hawaii, State of Bavaria......

Me too! great minds think alike, I have been known to fly the Rhodesian flag on "Rhodes" day and I have a very nice example actually signed by Ian Smith! :woohoo:

Another spectacular treasure from your collection! Thank you for sharing it.

Frank

I hope that you are not so cheeky as to fly the flag of St George and thereby upset passing immigrants. You are probably safe with the Rhodesian one, since it is unlikely to be recognised for what it is.

Regards
Brett

Excellent items Mike. Many thanks for the pictures.

I like the idea of flying different flags on special occasions.
