It is a lovely combination and a BSA CM with clasp has so far eluded me.

What was it about the 7th Hussars that generated these unusual combinations? I used to possess this QSA:

QSA (4) Eland RoK Paar Drief (4030 Pte. J. Wilson, 7th Hussars)

Hello David,
You should have kept any unusual QSA's to the 7th Hussars, the norm to the rank and file was merely an 1896 BSA Co and QSA with the five clasps.

David

Jeffery's group sold in November 2009 at City Coins Auction #59 lot 527 for a hammer price of R23100, at the exchange rate then of R12,10 it was GBP1909.09, however in todays terms it is GBP1299.94. A bargain for you in your currency, however it should have gained a bit in 4,5 years.

There is a picture on this website in the photo gallery of Jeffery's group.

The question remains how did two Privates end up in the Relief column when HRH proceeded to Johannesburg and Diamond Hill.

Thanks Jon.

I have been trying to determine why the two men received the RoK clasp. Either it was a mistake or they earned this clasp before/after their attachment to HRH. Not sure which as yet.

Do you know if HRH wrote any memoirs? That may shed some light.

I will also check if these men have papers on FMP.

Colin - apologies for hijacking your original post but it has been very interesting.
