I purchased a QSA medal from EBay. The member said its a relative of their fathers. The medal looks in good condition and I cant see signs of renaming.
However, I cant find the individual with the details on the medal!!!!
Im wondering could some of the details have changed, for example his unit or regiment which may explain why all the details dont match up.

I could still get my refund if it not genuine named at least!!!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Details:
1742 pte g . collis york reg

Thanks

Hi Neil,
And a warm welcome to the forum.
There are four pages of service history on Find My Past for 1742 George Walter Collis.
Born in Whitby 1871 attestation date 12th March 1889
He was entitled to the QSA with clasps Cape Colony and Orange Free State, he is also entitled to the KSA with the two date clasps.
He served with the 3rd Batt. Yorkshire Regt.
Seems like a nice purchase, post a pic if you still seem concerned but it matches with the paperwork.

Cheers
Paul :)

Coldstream you're a gent! I have the Cape Colony and Orange Free State clasps with the medal. Cost me £50 and its in good condition.

Theres something about the QSA and KSA medals which makes them stand out from others I think!

Thanks again Coldstream Its great to be able to find other people who share such a great interest and who are so helpful!

Neil,
A nice purchase for £50 would be nice if you could reunite with the KSA ;)
