I am struggling to understand why that would be "crazy" given how rare it would be, moreover, you only have to glance at the prices now being sought, not only for casualties, but, also just for actual Transvaal War service.

The First Boer War DCM went for a crazy #16,000!

I put in what I thought was a pretty robust bid for the Samuel Weil QSA (lot 582) but was run out of it. I quite fancied the QSA to Henderson of the Gordons (Lot 589) because he was not only wounded in the famous Towse VC action but was also a PIN 71 man with a big file in the NA. However, I was ultimately put off by the missing IGS.

Lot 360 contained a 1914-5 Star to 1756 L/Dafadar Sunder Singh, 18th Bengal Lancers. A QSA sold at DNW in 2012 to the same man. I restrained from bidding hoping that the two medals might be united. As a conciliation their March 2017 offerings are now in draft form !

I recently purchased QSA with 4 bars to Pte DJ Howe CC, OFS, SA01 & 02; Cape Police distr 1; when I tried checking the name on the forum list all I got
' no record ' response.
Can you cast more light on this chap please? Service record or perhaps a medal roll? Where can I search?
