Clive,

He is on the roll ( www.angloboerwar.com/medals-and-awards/n...ebellioon-1906-medal ) for the Medal and clasp for his service as a Trooper in the Natal Carbineers.

Stalker's book on the Carbineers ( www.angloboerwar.com/books/53-stalker-th...ts-and-illustrations ) contains a chapter on the Natal Rebellion. I do not have that on my site but it sounds perfect for what you need.

Best wishes
David

David
Thank you for that info
I had realised that there were many units in the Natal Carbineers and was hoping not to have to go into each unit individually and search to see which unit RMS served in
Is this possible and hopefully I can discover details of his service
I was not aware he had a clasp
Can you read Stalkers book on line ?
Since joining have been fascinated by the extent and detail of interest and service records, particularly Charles Ward and Frederick Royden Chalmers
I was privileged to meet David Rattray when he gave a most entertaining talk on Isandlwana at Clifton College in Bristol about 2004 and I am now delighted and grateful to you for having instigated this site
Thanks again
Clive

Morning Clive,

I cannot see a copy of the book online but it looks like there are copies to purchase starting at £18.

It does not look to me as though RMS served in the Boer War. Is that your understanding, Clive?
