So my chap Harold Livingstone Wood is one of the 24?

He was in the ILH for both the Defence of Ladysmith (wounded at Wagon Hill) and the Relief of Mafeking.

Do you have names for the remainder of these chaps Meurig?

Regards

Rory

I had a quick flick through my CD of Cavalry and both "3809 Pte. W.C.Jeffrey" and "4211 Pte. C.Mott" of 7H are shown as "whilst on 7th Hussars roll, listed as 3rd provisional regiment of Dragoons" and they are both shown as a "servant to the Duke of Teck". HSH Adolphus, Duke of Teck was in on the Relief of Kimberley; cannot find any reference to him on the RofM. However, Capt. Prince Alexander of Teck was aide-de-camp to Colonel Mahon on the RofM.
"3754 Pte.Mann J" on the roll of 10H (ORC Remounts Coy - unclear) has the notation "also served as 509 Tpr, KLH". Thefirst and last on your list are one and the same according to the roll.
Looks like only x3 with RofK and RofM so far.
I hope all the above makes sense; open volumes all over my old desk :S
Regards
IL.

Sorry, me again. The Teck in question has to be Adolphus as his writeup in the DSO book shows him at both "reliefs".

For further posts on this combination there is a thread or two on the forum:

"SA with added bars"

"QSA's with double RELIEF bar"

The Teck in question is Alexander Augustus Frederick William George Teck, who was in the Relief of Mafeking.

Henk also lists a QSA to the ASC with RoK and RoM
