Thorpdale.
Private W. COOK, of the Fifth Contingent, was entertained at the Mechanics' Institute on Monday last by the members of the Thorpdale detachment of Mounted Rifles and townspeople and was presented with a gold medal. There was a large assemblage present, and the proceedings enthusiastic.
