On the 25th ult., at Seafield, the residents of Cannibal Bay and Glenomaru held a most enjoyable social in honour of returned Troopers A.J. CAMPBELL, of the Seventh Contingent, and J. LAUGHTON, of the Eighth, each, of whom was during the evening made the recipient of a gold Maltese cross. Mr Weir, missionary for the district, made the presentation in an appropriate speech. Trooper J. LAUGHTON replied, on the troopers' behalf, and the remainder of the evening was spent in games, singing, etc., which, together with the good things provided, were appreciated by all.
