HONOURING A RETURNED VOLUNTEER.

Last night an interesting ceremony took place at Ecclefechan, when Private MURRAY, 3rd V.B. K.O.S.B., who has recently returned from the front, was presented with a handsome gold medal and a purse of sovereigns, subscribed for by the inhabitants of Ecclefechan and district, among the subscribers being several country gentlemen. Major Irving of Burnfoot made the presentation in the presence of a large gathering, and appropriately referred to the gallant deeds done by the Volunteers.
