DRYSDALE.

On Tuesday evening Mr Herbert LORD, a member of the Imperial Contingent who was in Drysdale on a flying visit to see his friends, was entertained in the Wesleyan Sunday schoolroom. During the evening he was presented with a gold pendant and Bible by his old schoolmates and friends belonging to the church and choir. Suitable valedictory addresses were given, to which Mr FORD, who was visibly affected, feelingly replied, after which the meeting broke up. The same evening an impromptu muster of Mr FORD's friends, principally belonging to the Garrison Artillery, met in the Assembly Hall about 10 o'clock, and again he was entertained, and presented with a silver-mounted pipe. The presentation was made by Dr Pacey, who presided. All expressed the heartiest good wishes that he would have a good time and their hopes for his safe return. At both entertainments numerous songs were well rendered, and the whole concluded by singing of "God save the Queen".
