Hi, I was wondering if Korporal Richard Thomas Wheeler was a relative. My family had 3 Richard Thomas Wheeler serve in the Boer Warb 1.Richard Thomas Wheeler. POW no. 7880. Banned to Ceylon - aged 45. Captured at Fouriesburg on 30 July 1900.
2. Richard Thomas Wheeler. POW no. 7879. Banned to Ceylon - aged 19. Captured at Fouriesburg on 30 July 1900.
3. Richard Thomas Wheeler: POW No. 28641. Banned to India aged 29. Captured at Motkop 29 November 1901.

I suggest you approach Dewald Nel on [email protected] - he has scanned the entire compliment of Vorm B's and is able, for a reasonable fee, to e-mail the appropriate ones to you.
Just for background - the Vorm B I refer to is the application form a Boer combatant completed to claim his ABO medal from about 1920 onwards. The Korporaal in this example, claimed his medal which is why his name appears here.
It's a long shot but the applicant had to provide his address (when he claimed the medal) and you might be able to take your research from there.
