ABO (Burger P.G. van Deventer); with length of Wound Riband (LvW)
Pieter van Deventer (Potchefstroom Commando) saw early action at the Siege of Mafeking. He was subsequently wounded at Twee Rivieren on 28 November: “Dum-dum bullet or shell fragment in left hip” on Vorm “C” and was taken prisoner the next day. His PoW number was 4328 and he was sent to St Helena for the duration of the war.
