ABO (Burger P.A. van der Merwe). City Coins August 2008.

When Petrus van der Merwe filled in his application form for the medal in October 1941 he gave his rank as Adjudant - the issuing authorities changed this to Burger. He served in the Krugersdorp Commando under Generals Oosthuizen and Kemp and listed Dundee, Colenso and Spioenkop among the actions taken part in.
