ABO (Burg. J.J.L. Pretorius). City Coins 66 September 2015.

Present at first battle of the Boer War Kraaipan 12 October 1899; Mafeking; Twee Riviere; Magersfontein; 27 February 1900 captured at Paardeberg. (PoW No. 1826). Sent to St. Helena.

ABO (Burg. J. J. L. Pretorius).

Served with the Potchefstroom Kommando and took part in the first battle of the Boer War at Kraaipan. He saw further service at Mafeking, Twee Rivieren, and Paardeberg, being captured at the latter, and was held as a Prisoner of War on St. Helena.
