ABO (Burger H.G. Pretorius)

Hermanus Pretorius was killed in the Talana action. He was 30 years old and had served in the Wakkerstroom Commando, one of the 7 Commandos under Gen Lukas Meyer. His son applied for his posthumous ABO medal in November 1939.

Breytenbach, in Vol II of the 1949 “History of the Boer War”, listed Pretorius as “Missing”.
