It will be interesting to see what information comes with it and how the re-impressed naming looks. You don't see too many of those.

According to Spink "officially renamed" - I think they missed a trick here - in my opinion the naming is pristine, untampered with and consistent with Type II WWII naming. What say you? The medal is still in the UK (a Covid casualty) and the photos are courtesy of Spink at the time of purchase.

"My" Lombard was with the Johannesburg Voet Politie (Vorm B below) - I am busy with the write-up but was gratified that there were 2 x Vorm B's for the same chap which made identification/authentication relatively easy. Perhaps he thought he would be awarded two medals.....fortunately the authorities were able to marry the 2 applications to get the true picture.

Do readers think that he was at the epic ZARP action at Bergendal? He lists Lydenburg as one of his battles and, I assume, that to be Bergendal?
