ABO (Burger M.J.H. Jacobs). City Coins August 2008

Served in the Rand Commando under Generals Ben Viljoen and Chris Muller. Both these Commanders published their memoirs after the war. In these two books the actions that Jacobs listed on his Vorm “B” (Colenso and Ladysmith through the Eastern Transvaal: Belfast to Steenkampsberg) are excellently described as seen from the Boer viewpoint, especially in Viljeon’s “My Reminiscences of the Anglo-Boer War” . Muller’s “Oorlogsherinneringe” is only available in Afrikaans.
