Hi, Im trying to locate information for JJ Jacobs that served in the ABO. I have the ABO medal with his names engraved on the rim but are not sure if it can be linked to this person. His birthdate was 26.01.1873.

Will appreciate any info i can get

So if the rank is one of the artillerists, then there are 2 possibilities.
Otherwise there are 5 possibilities.

The medal i have has engraved on the rim " Burger J J Jacobs". According to historical information i could gather he was from the Boshof atre. If you can send me any further information it would be appreciated. His birthdate was 26.01.1873

You need to get his ABO application papers. They cost R100 if available.
Send me a Private Message (PM) and I will send you the contact details for the man who will have it. (its not me)
From this form, you will see his address etc, and can work on from there. Unfortunately, this is a common name combination, so its hard to find him without knowing the farm or family he was from exactly.
