ABO (Burger A J Jacobs). Kaplan February 2021

Copy of Form B shows that Andreas Johannes Jacobs’s address was Kromdraai Bus 67 Potchefstroom. He fought with the Potchefstroom Kommando. He fought from Oct 1899 to June 1902. When he surrendered with General Liebenberg of the district Klerksdorp. The officers he fought with were V.K. D.J.Yssel and Komdt J.A.Cronje. He fought at Mafeking, Magersfontein, Yesterspruit, Rooiwal Lichtenberg and Modderfontein. Medal issued 2 Dec. 1922

ABO (Burger A.J. JACOBS), Kaplan Auctions January 2023

Kaplan says 'Application vorm shows that Burger A.J. Jacobs joined up 20/12/1899 to Mei 1902. He fought at Donkerhoek, Witrand, Machadadorp and Verkuilskop and others. He was with the Heidelberg Kdo. There is a letter from Kdo A.J. Heyns apologising for the fact that there is no official record of Burger A.J. Jacobs being taken POW and then escaping, letter dated 1 June 1974. Medal has type 1 suspender and type 1 naming'
