From the next City Coins auction, November 2020

ABO (Burger G.J. Fourie)

Gert Fourie served in the Bethulie Commando and specifically mentioned on his Vorm “B” application that he saw action at Stormberg, Waterwerk (Sanna’s Post) and Houtkraal Station.

He was subsequently taken prisoner in an isolated incident at Meyerskraal on 13 Dec 1901 and sent to St Helena as PoW No 26952.
