Described by Nel Militaria as:

Anglo-Boere Oorlog War Medal to Burger J J du Plessis.

He claims on his medal application form that he was a Natal Rebel.

He was taken prisoner of war in April 1901 and was sent to India.

The medal is officially re-impressed.

I don't remember seeing an officially renamed ABO before.
