Martin John de Bruin served as Burger then ‘Luitnant’ in Pretoria and Krugersdorp Kommando from18 October 1899 to 31 May 1902. He took part in battles in Dundee Natal, Elandslaagte, Colenso, Delmantha, Pretoria, Kliprivier and many others.
